A Turning Point
Though raised in an artistic family, Luiza hesitated to pursue music professionally — until a pivotal period of her life reshaped everything. Amid a battle with cancer and a mental health crisis, she wrote her first original song between chemotherapy sessions, marking the moment she fully embraced music as both refuge and purpose.
Music as a Lifeline
Now a Berklee College of Music graduate (’23), Luiza has built a growing presence in the US and Brazil, performing in select cities while expanding her reach. Her 2024 New England Songwriting Contest win for “I See You” (Jazz/Blues) showcased her gift for merging intricate musicality with lyrical vulnerability. Her upcoming debut album — co-produced and arranged with João Vitor Costa Dias — features a dynamic rhythm section and string quartet, framing her songs as intimate yet expansive explorations of presence, resilience, and human connection.

Brazilian-born, Boston-based Luiza Girardello is a singer-songwriter whose work defies easy categorization, blending the rhythmic pulse of South America with the raw energy of alternative rock, the sophistication of jazz, and the emotional immediacy of Latin-inspired melodies. True to her multifaceted nature, Luiza brings the same intentionality to music that she applies to her work in education and photography, crafting art that lives at the intersection of technique, feeling, and lived experience.

When not writing or performing, Luiza works as an educator and photographer, framing the world through the same lens of curiosity and connection that defines her music. Signed to Za Music (led by Zabelê Gomes) with distribution by Musikorama Music and New Music Brasil, she’s poised to share her debut album in 2025 — a testament to her evolution as an artist unafraid to blur borders, genres, and expectations.
